Women’s Inspire Network Host One Day Seminar
Living in the ‘Age of Influence,’ anyone can build an audience and effect change, advocate brands, create relationships and make a difference, according to social media guru, Ted Rubin and advocated by Samantha Kelly of the Women's Inspire Network (WIN).
A one day seminar hosted by the business network on Wednesday 5th April next in the Cork International Hotel will address business and personal development, as well as the central importance of online and social media in establishing and growing successful enterprises.
The Women's Inspire Network is a network of female entrepreneurs who engage mostly on social media. They effectively use social marketing platforms like twitter and Facebook to market and grow their business, as well as for networking and business advice.
In the world of online and social media, more and more people have realised that you don't need a physical shop or office to build a business, according to WIN founder Samantha Kelly, a twitter expert and social media strategist also known as the ‘Tweeting Goddess’.
“We are talking about individuals, mostly working from home, who are busy building their empires from the kitchen table and using a website and social media platforms as their shop window”, the social media expert says.
An inspirational line-up of speakers at the WIN event includes financial advisor Carol Brick of HerMoney.ie and Susan Hayes, author of the Savvy Women's Guide to Financial Freedom.
"We are delighted to have Microsoft involved in this event with their strong track record of supporting and empowering women."
" Aisling Curtis, Microsoft Director for Small Medium and Corporate Business, will speak at the event and will share some of her key learnings through her career.
Other successful women in business who will share advice include Fiona Gratzer, CEO of Unislim, the Irish family business started by her mother that is focussed on healthier and happier lives.
Mary McKenna, who founded Tour America in 1995, and has grown the company to the largest USA and Cruise Tour Operator in the Irish market, is also a keynote speaker.
A packed 9.00am to 5.00pm agenda will involve networking, speakers, panel discussions and workshops, with lunch included.
There is practical advice too from members of the Women's Inspire Network who have ‘walked the walk’ so don’t just ‘talk the talk’, and understand the practical and emotional challenges of getting a business off the ground.
Presenter and journalist Bibi Baskin, who moved to Southern India and ran a hotel there, will talk about the challenge and excitement of change, alongside other motivational speakers on personal development and on building the confidence, resilience and mind-set to ensure goals and potential are reached.
Social media and email marketing for complete novices will feature in workshops, as well as more sophisticated campaign planning and management advice.
Psychologist Aisling Curtin of ACT Now talks on why it's best to be rebellious, and popular DJ Ruth Scott will be doing her best to manage the assembled Cork rebels in her role as MC!
The WIN event is for anyone thinking of setting up a business or already in business, according to Samantha Kelly, and men are also welcome to sign-up for a day of inspirational and practical business advice.
“Social media is a huge part of being a business owner right now, which is how our business network came into being. As a Twitter expert, I am passionate about helping others to get on and use Twitter as a marketing tool to show off what they do”, Kelly says.
Tickets for the event on Wednesday, 5 April, in Cork cost €65.00 on Eventbrite, and there is an overnight room rate of €99.00 for the Cork International Hotel, with a complimentary breakfast.
As well as her own social media business, Samantha Kelly is the main organiser of The Women’s Inspire Network and its communications platforms, including a Facebook group of over 6,000 members.
She also set up the #womensinspire hashtag, which takes place every Tuesday night, 10.00 – 11.00pm, on Twitter and encourages female entrepreneurs to tweet about what they do, and spread the word about group members’ businesses.
“It's like word of mouth on speed. Instead of telling ten people about what you do, you could be telling thousands”, the Tweeting Goddess says.
Formed in 2014 to connect and empower female led enterprise, the WIN was originally an online support network with a newsletter. The group now has over 6,000 active members and hosts a national conference, regional seminars, workshops, E-books and webinars.
Samantha will be launching new membership packages for WIN to add real value to members. It’s a WIN WIN situation!!
Tweeting Goddess, Samantha Kelly is available for interview on the upcoming Women’s Inspire Network (WIN) event in Cork, and on any aspect of social media applications and their use in Irish business and social arenas.
